The Most Improved Economy in the World according to World Bank's Doing Business Report 2018
The World Banks' Doing Business 2018 report names Brunei Darussalam as the most improved economy in the world for the third year running, in terms of making doing business in the Sultanate easier.
The report, which measures the efficiency and regulation of domestic businesses, records Brunei Darussalam as jumping a significant 16 places to rank 56 out of 190 economies worldwide, narrowing the gap between Brunei and the top performing economy.
The latest rankings see Brunei Darussalam maintain its position as 4th in ASEAN, behind Singapore (2), Malaysia (24) and Thailand (26); followed by Vietnam (68), Indonesia (72), Philippines (113), Cambodia (135), Lao (141) and Myanmar (171).Within the Asia-Pacific region Brunei Darussalam is positioned 11th, behind north Asian counterparts Republic of Korea at 3rd, Taiwan 6th and Japan 9th; and ahead of rising Asian powerhouse, China at 18th
